Two weeks another feat was achieved by Ross Fisher since eagles were left by him towards the end of his round.
Fisher earned a BMW sports car worth over #130,000 once he holed out with a four-iron to get a stunning albatross-two on the final hole in the BMW PGA Championship, capping a back-nine 28 about the West Course prior to going to finish just outside the top 30 after a disappointing 76 about the last day.
The Englishman needs a strong finish to the year to keep his European Tour cardarriving in Madrid ranked 118th in the Hurry Dubai, and he was flirting with all the line when he made three consecutive bogeys to slide to one under with six holes to play with.
He managed to scramble a par in the first time, and Fisher drilled into a beautiful and rattled at the putt to an eagle-three, and greater was to follow at the next.
Fishers wedge from the centre of the fairway pitched before the pin and then spun back into the cup for a different eagle, his fourth of the tournament, and he can now go into the weekend well placed on five under after rounds of 69 and 68.
I left a wonderful up-and-down on six which was key, then I hit a lovely drive and also a very nice soft four-iron in the next, said Fisher, who hasnt had a top-10 finish since the Nedbank Golf Challenge in November last year.
I did not realise how long it had been before I watched Mr (John E) Morgan put his hands up so that I knew it was good and also to roll that was really, very fine – my next among this week.
Subsequently to hit that shot on the subsequent hole and back it up with another eagle was fine. I was flag hunting on the past there trying to go in a row! Id be surprised if Ive gone back to back eagles although I know I have had a run of birdies in a row.
To have four week, and I came really close to my next albatross in three weeks, it literally finished three or four inches out of going in. Two eagles yesterday on the par fivesthey had been kind to me, and also to create another one after which hole a shot, it was a great day.
See the video over to see how Fisher chased himself up the Open de Espana leaderboard with back eagles…
