Phil Taylor admits he has hinted at making a comeback and has missed competing against Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson.
Taylor won 214 pro tournaments, such as a list 85 significant titles and a record 16 World Championships. He retired after his 2018 World Championship final defeat to Rob Cross in the game.
‘The Power’ is a firm believer in technological progress in darts, and the 59-year-old feels when he left a return he would have no problem re-adjusting.

He’s launched his new Generation 6 darts through Target where the arrows using a brand new item of technology called Swiss Point which allows players to switch the points onto their darts in a matter of minutes, which is made Taylor consider creating a stunning return to the oche.
“I’ve enjoyed my retirement but all these new thoughts are coming out, it is like having a brand-new car and being a racing car driver,” Taylor told Sky Sports.
“I would love to have another bash, especially at Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson. I really do miss that tiny bit of camaraderie. They state today the practice room is lifeless, it is very quiet and nobody has any fun. The youngsters are currently standing there with all iPods in their ears.
“Me and Aidy (Lewis) was used to have a right laugh.”
Taylor asserts the sport is lacking personalities because of the sum of money today involved getting more professional than ever before.
“The game has gone very serious with all the cash involved and I could understand them being very serious. It can be a career that is fast in case you don’t perform. If a few of these pros don’t do something to reinvent themselves, they’re going to go down the positions as fast as anything.”
He also admits not seeing any darts on TV, but that November he would tune-in to watch young Leighton Bennett, who has chosen the game by storm and is now in the Grand Slam of Darts.
“Someone just asked me a question regarding Bennett and if have a wildcard to Wolverhampton? My response was that I really don’t see the darts but if Bennett understands a wildcard since he’s exciting, I’ll watch it. He’s a nightmare to play,” he explained.
Though Bennett acquired his revenge, defeating the 59-year-old 4-1 at the SAP Darts Slam at Frankfurt back in June taylor conquered the youngster in March.
“I have played with him a couple of times and he’s an absolute nightmare, since he’s a young lad and he is good,” Taylor added. “He’s got no fear at him whatsoever. I really enjoy that in him.”
