Michael Appleton attends Lincoln’s match amid rumours he is set to become club’s manager

Michael Appleton attended Lincoln’s game against Rochdale on Tuesday amid rumours he’s set to become the new director of the club, Sky Sports News understands.
Lincoln chairman Clive Nates is currently expecting to create a new boss and Appleton is the bookies’ favorite to take over at Sincil Bank.
The League One team dropped Nicky and Cowley brothers Danny into Huddersfield.
Newport director Michael Flynn along with Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth spoke to Lincoln but both have reiterated their commitment to their existing clubs.
Appleton is currently in control of West Brom side – a project he started last month.
The 43-year-old has been caretaker manager at Leicester before former boss Claude Puel arrived in the club in November 2017, and has previously managed Portsmouth, Blackpool, Blackburn and Oxford United.
Lincoln are at home to one of Appleton areas on Saturday.
