Hit The Bid back in action at Newbury

Strike The Bid is set to make a reappearance in the Dubai International Airport World Trophy at Newbury after a luckless run in the Curragh.

Trainer Darren Bunyan has set a line during the performance at the Group One Flying Five Stakes on Sunday, when he was defeated at less than four spans of his star – and reports the prepared to go only six days later.
The County Kildare handler has contributed Hit The Bid an entry in Saturday’s Group Three dashboard in Newbury and has confirmed the intention is to run.
“He emerged from the race perfect,” said Bunyan.
“It was just one of those days to draw a lineup. Nothing worked out on the day to him, but we’ve had times that were worse than that.
“He wasn’t beaten too much to get a horse who had nothing go his way onto the day.”
Hit The Bid has shown that he can operate well when kept occupied.
“There is no issue with all the horse running quickly,” added Bunyan.
“He came from the Abbaye last year and won the Group Three Mercury Stakes (at Dundalk) not long afterwards.
“We are still making strategies, and it looks like he’ll visit Newbury that Saturday now.
“The ground is at his favour there. The current weather forecast is good for the week, and he is 100 percent after the race.
“If all goes well on Saturday we’ll stick him in the Abbaye.”
The Blue Uluru of ger Lyons is a Irish that is potential – while others in an entry comprise Beverley Bullet scorer Judicial, recent York Listed victor Dakota Gold and Equilateral, who took the most Scarbrough Stakes last week.
