Hit The Bid back in action at Newbury

After a luckless run in the Curragh Reach The Bid is Place to make a quick reappearance at the Dubai International Airport World Trophy.

Trainer Darren Bunyan has set a line through his stable star’s performance in the Group One Flying Five Stakes on Sunday, when he was defeated at less than four lengths – and reports the five-year-old ready to go again six days later.
The County Kildare handler has confirmed the purpose is to operate and has given an entry in Saturday’s Group Three dashboard to Hit The Bid at Newbury.
“He came out of the race perfect,” said Bunyan.
“It was just one of those days to draw a line through. We’ve had worse days than that, although nothing worked out for him about the day.
“He was not beaten too far for a horse who had nothing his way onto the day.”
Hit The Bid has shown that he can run when kept busy.
“There’s no problem with the horse running back quickly,” added Bunyan.
“He came back from the Abbaye last year and won the Group Three Mercury Stakes (at Dundalk) not long afterwards.
“We are still making plans, and it looks like he will visit Newbury this Saturday now.
“The floor is at his favour . The weather forecast is good for your week, and he’s 100 percent after the race.
“If all goes well on Saturday we will stick him in the Abbaye.”
Ger Lyons’s Blue Uluru is a Irish that is possible – while many others in an 11-strong entry include Beverley Bullet scorer Judicial, recent York Listed victor Dakota Gold and Equilateral, that took the most Scarbrough Stakes last week.
