If you’re anything like me, you’ve been counting down the days for??college football’s return since the Clemson ended placing a whupping on Alabama at the tournament. The waiting is over and football is back.??
There is a good deal of doubt in regards to choosing games of school football because of the turnover , new head coaches, loss of important players, along with freshman/inexperienced quarterbacks in Week 1. But from gambling that will not stop any people can it? There are many games available on the slate but a couple of matchups are that have captured my attention and a few teams that I’ll be interested in viewing due to new schemes, players that are new, new coaching.
Here Is What I will be seeing in Week 1:
True freshman Hank Bachmeier has been named the starting quarterback for Boise State after it was noticed that redshirt sophomore Chase Cord had to have a snap with the No. 1 offense after tearing his ACL midway through last year. Big shoes to fill Brett Rypien, as the past year’s newcomer, left as a undrafted player into the NFL, ending his college career with a 30-touchdown year, also Offensive POY honors at the seminar. However, does??Florida State make??it back into a bowl (after its 36-year streak finished with Taggart), or increase its??2018 record of 5-7 to maybe 7-5 or greater?

As a top-20 passing offense, the Cougars will look to keep that prowess even as they get a new head coach in Dana Holgorsen. Although Houston does shed OC Kendal Briles to Florida State, I would expect a natural transition using Holgorsen, who was the head coach in West Virginia (top five??in death last year), not a major change in offensive styles.
Expect expect and points A LOT! In passing defense of 130, Houston ranked 130th out in 2018 — yes, that means that they were dead last — but Oklahoma was a smidge better,??shutting out the year.
You could create a drinking game out of the for every touchdown why I’m looking forward to this matchup. Let us not! Oklahoma has surprised the past couple of years because of fantastic QB drama from Murray along with Mayfield. OU has but is and well, they are both gone to the NFL he Murray/Mayfield good? Will he be able to put up those types of stats? It was seen but I am convinced of King’s abilities.
Odds: Houston is +23??around the road with all the OVER/UNDER??set at 82.5 (steep). The total has gone and above.
Shane Buechele! The QB is a transfer from Texas who played every game as a freshman. He listed 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Then came Sam Ehlinger, that became Texas’ brand new player that was shiny. The Mustangs closed out a year that was disappointing with a 5-7 record, going.
Arkansas State went season and I can not say with confidence it will be replicated. QB Justice Hansen was good the best quarterback in the Sun Belt Conference, at his place, but he has now gone. In comes Logan Bonner with little to no expertise. The Red Wolves may definitely have some regression without All-Conference left handle, their QB and corner. They’ll be starting the year, to make things worse. Following she battled with breast cancer for the second time anderson tragically lost his wife. Defensive coordinator David Duggan will require more than Anderson takes some leave.
Why I’m excited about this game: I believe SMU has some upside down. We all know what Buechele is capable of generating so I’d think there’s some potential there for a QB that is high-ceiling. Add this to the combination of returning employees (HC, OC, DC all in their second year) and also this Mustangs team possibly has a shot in a fantastic season — at least a six-win year old.
Odds: Arkansas State -3, OVER/UNDER 58.
Georgia??Southern QB Shai Werts did not throw a single interception that the entire season this past year after playing almost every snap — using just 10 touchdowns (zero picks!) . A game of two teams that don’t??create much excitement, true. However, NIU is a group, I think, worth mentioning. After making this, the Huskies took the name of MAC winners annually for the very first time because 2014, finishing 8-6, 6-2 in conference. They have dropped their bowl game the last two years (2018 vs UAB, 2017 vs Duke), however they have a few adjustments which make me enthusiastic about seeing whether they could progress. NIU has a brand new head coach in Thomas Hammock, who doesn’t have any head coaching experience but that has been the Baltimore Ravens RB coach for the past five years.
RB Tre Harbison can observe a much larger boost in manufacturing for this. He had been the first 1,000-yard rusher in NIU since 2015, finishing with 1,034 yards last year.
