If you are anything like me, you have been counting the days for college football’s return since the Clemson ended putting a whupping on Alabama at the tournament. The waiting is over and football is back.??
There is a good deal of uncertainty in regards to picking matches of college soccer due to new head coaches the turnover, reduction of important players, and quarterbacks in Week 1. But from gambling that won’t stop any people will it? There are many games available on the slate but there are a couple of matchups which have captured my attention and a couple of teams that I will be interested in watching because of new schemes, players that are new, new training.
Here’s what I will be watching in Week 1:

I love college football because I adore games. Let’s light up the scoreboard, boys! Houston includes QB D’Eriq King after capping off a 2018 season completing 63 percent of his passes with 50 touchdowns, returning — FIFTY! As a passing offense, the Cougars will be looking to retain that art as they get a new head coach in Dana Holgorsen. Though Houston does shed OC Kendal Briles into Florida State, I would expect a natural transition with Holgorsen, that was the head coach at West Virginia (top five??at death last year), so not a large shift in offensive styles.
Expect expect and points a Good Deal! In 2018, Houston ranked 130th out in death defense — that means they were last — but Oklahoma was a smidge better,??shutting out the year ranked 129th.
You could create a drinking game out of this for every touchdown scored: why I’m anticipating this matchup. Let us not! Oklahoma has surprised the last few years because of wonderful QB play from Mayfield and Murray. Well, they’re both gone into the NFL and OU now has Jalen Hurts, who might be a great QB but is he Murray/Mayfield good? Will he be able to put those types of stats up? I’m sure of King’s abilities although it remains to be seen.
Odds: Houston is +23??on the road with the OVER/UNDER??place at 82.5 (steep). The total has gone over in six??of Houston’s last seven games and above.
Shane Buechele! The junior QB is a move from Texas who played every game. He listed 11 interceptions and 21 touchdowns. Then came Sam Ehlinger, that eventually became Texas’ player that was shiny. The Mustangs closed out a disappointing year with a 5-7 record, going.
Arkansas State went season and that I can not state it will be replicated. QB Justice Hansen was good at his place, the best quarterback in the Sun Belt Conference, but he’s now gone. In regards Logan Bonner with little to no experience. Even the Red Wolves may have some regression without All-Conference corner, handle and their All-Conference QB. They will be starting the year, to make things worse. Anderson tragically lost his wife after she fought with breast cancer for the second time. While Anderson takes a while leave defensive coordinator David Duggan will take over.
Why I’m looking forward to this game: I believe SMU has some upside down. We know what Buechele is capable of producing so I’d think there is some potential there to get a high-ceiling QB. Add it to the mixture of returning team (HC, OC, DC all in their second year) and also this Mustangs team potentially has a shot at a great period — at a six-win season.

Georgia??Southern QB Shai Werts didn’t throw a single interception the entire season this past year after playing nearly every snap — using only 10 touchdowns (zero picks!) . Paul Johnson, GT’s head trainer, retired after last year and it would be for conducting the triple-option crime for decades if GT is famous for something. Well that has gone as GT has attracted in Geoff Collins, who was the head coach at Temple the previous couple of decades. The crime will surely change, but what is expected? Your guess is as good as mine, but Collins has said he will be running an”NFL-style, spread-based attack” — thus a more traditional, pro-style crime.
Anticipate different, but different will not necessarily imply magic.
