CFB Betting Tips From Pamela Maldonado: What to Watch in Week 1

If you’re anything like me, you have been counting the times for the return of college football since the Clemson ended putting a whupping on Alabama in the championship. The waiting is over and soccer is back.??
There’s a lot of doubt when it comes to choosing matches of school soccer because of quarterbacks head coaches, loss of key players, along with the turnover in Week 1. But from betting any people will not stop can it? There are many games on the background but a couple of matchups are which have captured my eye and a few teams that I will be interested in seeing due to new schemes, new players, new coaching.
Here’s what I will be watching in Week 1:
True freshman Hank Bachmeier was named the starting quarterback for Boise State later it had been noticed that redshirt sophomore Chase Cord had to have a snap with the No. 1 offense after tearing his ACL midway through last season. Big shoes to fill Brett Rypien, as last year’s newcomer, left to the NFL as an undrafted player, ending his college career with a 3,700-yard year, also Offensive POY honors in the seminar. It was expected that the start would be seen by Cord but rather we catch Bachmeier, who is the first freshman to become an FBS starter since Rypien at 2015 When healthy.
On the reverse side, you own a group at Florida State that on paper??must create greater than it did??last year, finishing 3-5 and just 5-7 in the conference. The Seminoles??are the best recruiting team at the conference, have a top returning production, get a new OC at Kendal Briles from Houston, along with a (somewhat) experienced QB. The question is, how do we hope Willie Taggart, who is entering his second season, as a head coach? This past year, the team had a decent defense but had been near??the??floor (13th) in??offense — before only Louisville, which??finished with a 2-10 record, 0-8 in conference.
Why I’m excited about this matchup: We get an entire unknown in QB drama for Boise State, a team that’s regarded highly by the marketplace (9.5 regular-season win total) playing with a team which should see a much better season. However, does??Florida State make??it back into a bowl (after its 36-year series finished with Taggart), or enhance its??2018 listing of 5-7 to perhaps 7-5 or greater?
Odds: Boise State is currently +5.5??on a neutral field. If trends are liked by you, then the Broncos are 5-0 ATS in their last five matches when playing with the underdog and head trainer Bryan Harsin is 11-2 as a underdog over his livelihood.
Because I love games that are offensive, I really like college football. Let us light up the scoreboard! Houston includes QB D’Eriq King after capping off an excellent 2018 season completing 63 percent of his passes with 50 touchdowns, returning — FIFTY! As a passing offense, the Cougars will be seeking to retain that art even as they get a new head coach in Dana Holgorsen. Though Houston does shed OC Kendal Briles into Florida State, I would expect a natural transition with Holgorsen, who was the head coach in West Virginia (top five??at death year), not a big shift in offensive styles.
Expect points and expect a Good Deal! Houston ranked 130th from 130 in passing defense — yes, that means that they were last — but Oklahoma was a smidge better,??shutting out the year.
You can create a drinking game out of this for each touchdown scored: I’m anticipating the matchup. Let us not! Oklahoma has amazed the last few years because of QB play from Murray along with Mayfield. Well, they are both gone into the NFL and OU has but is he Murray/Mayfield good? Will he be in a position to put up those types of stats? I am convinced of King’s skills although it remains to be seen.
Odds: Houston is +23??on the road with the OVER/UNDER??set at 82.5 (steep). The total has gone and over.
Shane Buechele! The QB is a transfer from Texas who played in every game as a freshman. He listed 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Then came Sam Ehlinger, who became Texas’ brand new player. The Mustangs closed out a year with a 5-7 record, going.
Arkansas State went 8-5 last season and that I can’t say with confidence that it will be replicated. QB Justice Hansen was good the best quarterback in the Sun Belt Conference, at his position, but he has now gone. In regards Logan Bonner with little to no expertise. The Red Wolves may have some regression without handle, their QB and corner. To make matters worse, they will be starting the season without head coach Blake Anderson. After she fought with breast cancer for the second time anderson lost his wife . While some leave is taken by Anderson defensive coordinator David Duggan will require over.
I think SMU has some upside down why I’m excited about this match. We know what Buechele is capable of generating so I’d think there is some potential there to get a QB that is high-ceiling. Add that to the mix of returning staff (HC, OC, DC all in their second year) and also this Mustangs team potentially has a shot at a fantastic period — at least a six-win year old.
Odds: Arkansas State -3, OVER/UNDER 58.
Georgia??Southern QB Shai Werts didn’t throw one interception the entire season last year after playing nearly every snap — using just 10 touchdowns (zero picks!) . Whether that streak can last vs I just need to determine for forcing a lot of turnovers, a LSU defense that’s well known. This is a game where as soon as a pick throws, I am changing the channel. If I end up not reaching for the remote, I would be amazed.
Truth: OVER/UNDER 53, LSU -28.
GT’s head trainer, Paul Johnson, retired after last season for conducting the crime for 31, and when GT is known for one thing, it would be. Well that’s gone since Geoff Collins, who had been the head coach at Temple the past couple of years has been brought in by GT. The crime will change, but what is expected? Your guess is as good as minebut Collins has stated he’ll be conducting an”NFL-style, spread-based attack” — so a more traditional, pro-style crime.
Expect distinct, but distinct will not necessarily imply magical.
Opportunities: Clemson -36.
A couple of two groups that don’t??generate much enthusiasm. But NIU is a group, I think, worth mentioning. The Huskies took the name of MAC champions for the very first time because 2014, finishing 8-6, 6-2 in conference, after making it. They’ve dropped their bowl game the past two years (2018 vs UAB, 2017 vs Duke), however they have some adjustments which make me interested in seeing whether they could progress. NIU has a brand new head coach in Thomas Hammock, that doesn’t have any head coaching experience but who has been the Baltimore Ravens RB coach for the past five decades.
RB Tre Harbison could observe a much larger increase in manufacturing because of it. He had been the first 1,000-yard rusher at NIU because 2015, finishing with 1,034 metres, last year. I think after dropping his 15 sacks and DE Sutton Smith into the NFL, NIU will stay a team even. This group has a QB coordinator, and also a HC but a wager to win the MAC is not so far-fetched.
Odds: OVER/UNDER NA, NIU -5.5
